Who it's for
Heidi was originally designed with small public libraries in mind, but would work great for any institution, organization, or individual who's interested in presenting their content in a fun, organized, and modern way. With a consistent design across static pages and blog posts, and a good handful of customization options, Heidi works well for a variety of user needs.
- Easy incorporation of images, both within posts and through WordPress' Featured Image option.
- Customizable color scheme.
- Fully responsive design that will work on a variety of screen sizes.
- Supports optional custom header image of your choice.
Behind the design
I wanted Heidi to be clean and minimal, while still fun. Heidi is based off of Underscores. I drew inspiration from flat design, and also based some of the design off a group project I completed in the summer of 2014 with two other students in my Master's program.
Heidi uses two fonts throughout the design. Both are from Google fonts.
- Open Sans
Open Sans is the main font used throughout the theme, in the header, blog posts, static pages, the sidebar widget area, and the site footer.
- Libre Baskerville
Libre Baskerville is the secondary font, used mainly in the post and page titles.
