AWWP

Hi! My name is Alexa.

I'm a web designer. I make visual designs such as mockups, wireframes, icons, and illustrations. I also write code. To me, coding isn't the opposite of designing; in fact, I think it's pretty much the same. It's just the method that's different.

I like making things that are beautiful on both a presentational and functional level. I have a Master's in Library and Information Science, where I focused my studies on web design and IT in libraries and related information institutions. I'm interested in designs that are responsive, valid, and accessible.

WordPress is a huge part of modern web presences for a lot of people and institutions. I started working more closely with WordPress during my time in my Master's program. My first publicly available WordPress theme was designed as part of an independent study on advanced web design topics. I've been interested in developing more themes for WordPress since.

My WordPress themes aim to follow similar inspirations as those behind WordPress itself. I want to create themes that are elegant, well-architectured and documented, and accessible on multiple levels. WordPress advertises itself as "open source software you can use to create a beautiful website, blog, or app." It's my hope that my themes also meet these criteria, and I'm enthusiastic to continue developing and maintaining them on both a professional and personal level.
